Spanish 1 is comprised of speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities that incorporate grammar and vocabulary.  The curriculum focuses on learning and communicating in the present tense and includes themes such as leisure activities, travel, school, family, and food.  Students will also learn about important cultural events and create a culture project.  Curriculum is aligned with the State’s Standards for the Teaching Profession as well as the Foreign Language Learning Continuum.

Spanish 2 is comprised of speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities that incorporate grammar and vocabulary.  The curriculum focuses on learning and communicating in the past tense and includes themes such as school, clothing, childhood activities, holidays, and directions.  Students will also learn about important cultural events and create a culture project.  Curriculum is aligned with the State’s Standards for the Teaching Profession as well as the Foreign Language Learning Continuum.

Spanish 3 is comprised of speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities that incorporate grammar and vocabulary.  The curriculum focuses on learning complex tenses such as the present subjunctive, future and conditional tenses, and perfect tenses as well as advanced vocabulary.  Students will further their knowledge of Spanish through reading short stories as well as poetry.  They will also watch Spanish videos for content and understanding, write essays and poetry, and do cultural projects.  Curriculum is aligned with the State’s Standards for the Teaching Profession as well as the Foreign Language Learning Continuum.
