The purpose of this course is to afford students growth and knowledge in personal fitness, sports skills and game strategies through participation in fitness activities and sports. A student will earn PE credit, increase fitness levels while pursuing their own physical education goals, and gain knowledge that relates to their own personal fitness.

Students will meet the California Standards for Health, studying material in six content areas:
• Nutrition and Physical Activity
• Growth, Development, and Sexual Health
• Injury Prevention and Safety
• Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs
• Mental, Emotional, and Social Health
• Personal and Community Health
